According to the Pakistan News Index, the Commissioner of Karachi has announced a 'Ramadan Package' aimed at providing essential items at discounted rates. The initiative includes releasing price lists and launching a crackdown on profiteers, with Deputy Commissioners overseeing the enforcement. The Commissioner emphasized, 'Special campaigns will be run against profiteers, and Assistant Commissioners are instructed to ensure daily reporting to provide timely essential items at reasonable prices.' Similarly, in Chitral, both Upper and Lower districts have set new official prices for food items. The Chitral Times reports that in Upper Chitral, a meeting led by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Imran Khan resulted in the decision to display price lists in all shops and conduct daily market inspections to curb overpricing. Specific prices were set, such as mutton at 1300 PKR per kg and beef at 900 PKR per kg, with strict legal actions planned against violators.
