The attack, which occurred during Friday prayers on February 6, 2026, resulted in the deaths of at least 38 people and injured over 150 others, marking it as one of the deadliest incidents in Islamabad in recent years. During his visit to the site, PM Shehbaz expressed profound grief, describing the attack as 'the worst kind of barbaric act' and emphasizing that 'these terrorists have no religion, and they have crossed all the limits of cruelty' (Dawn).
