According to Tribune Latest, starting in 2026, biometric attendance will be mandatory for all students, with thumb impressions required for registration in Classes 9 and 11. This biometric verification will ensure transparency and accuracy in the examination process, as "all paper marking will now be digital instead of manual," eliminating errors in marking and counting. The responsibility for biometric arrangements will fall on both government and private schools, which must provide the necessary devices and laptops, while the boards will supply the software. This initiative is expected to enhance the integrity of the examination system significantly.
