According to Business Recorder, copper on the Shanghai Futures Exchange fell 2.07% to 100,380 yuan ($14,463.98) per metric ton by Friday, marking a 7.34% weekly decline. The London Metal Exchange also saw copper prices drop by 0.59% to $12,827.50 a ton, poised for a 2.52% weekly drop. The decline in copper prices was attributed to increased stock levels across major exchanges and concerns over demand in a high-price environment. Meanwhile, gold and silver also faced losses, with spot gold down 1.4% for the week and silver experiencing a dramatic 19.1% drop in the last session, as reported by Business Recorder. The broader market correction was exacerbated by a global selloff in technology shares, which dampened investor sentiment across various asset classes.
