According to Daily Qudrat, each franchise was allowed to retain one player per category. Hyderabad made headlines by retaining Saeem Ayub in the Platinum category for a record 12.6 crore rupees, making him the most expensive national player in PSL 11, surpassing notable players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Shadab Khan. This move was highlighted by Hum News, which noted that Saeem Ayub was previously released by Peshawar Zalmi. Additionally, Hyderabad retained Usman Khan in the Diamond category for 4.62 crore rupees, Akif Javed in the Gold category for 1.96 crore rupees, and Maaz Sadaqat in the Emerging category for 3.05 crore rupees.
