Arif Habib Consortium Submits Guarantee for PIA Privatisation Deal

The Arif Habib Corporation consortium has reportedly submitted a bank guarantee worth 45 billion rupees as part of the transaction process for PIA. However, the government is facing scrutiny as the expected payment of 83 billion rupees remains unpaid, raising questions about the transparency of the deal linked to the IMF bailout program. The Privatisation Commission had previously stated that the winning bid of 135 billion rupees would be paid in installments, with a significant portion due within 90 to 120 days, but no major payment has materialized as of late April 2026.
