The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have initiated a collaborative effort to enhance engineering standards in mega development projects, as reported by both TechJuice and ProPakistani on January 31, 2026. The agreement, reached during a meeting between PEC Chairman Engineer Waseem Nazir and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, aims to improve transparency, quality, and efficiency in large-scale infrastructure projects. According to ProPakistani, the collaboration will focus on 'Project Director (PD) Certification and the training of young engineers under the Graduate Engineers Trainee (GET) Placement Program,' ensuring compliance with professional and technical standards. This initiative is expected to bolster project management, accountability, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle, highlighting a proactive step towards sustainable infrastructure development in Pakistan.
