On February 2, 2026, TechJuice and ProPakistani detailed the arrest of a Rawalpindi resident accused of using fake social media accounts to groom and blackmail minors. The suspect allegedly created fraudulent Instagram profiles posing as scholarship programs to lure children, eventually manipulating at least two minor boys into sharing explicit content, which was then used for blackmail. ProPakistani reported that the investigation, identified as NCCIA Enquiry No. 239 of 2026, uncovered attempts by the suspect to access victims' Instagram and WhatsApp accounts by requesting verification codes.
