Bibi Houri, also known as Amma Houri, a prominent advocate for the families of missing persons in Balochistan, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 98. Her relentless fight for justice for her son, Gul Mohammad Marri, who was forcibly disappeared in 2012, made her a symbol of resilience among the Baloch community. Over the years, she led numerous protests from Quetta to Karachi and organized significant demonstrations in front of the Islamabad Press Club, including a march in September 2025 where she lamented, "Those in power did not even give us a voice; they treated us like animals." Her activism gained considerable attention in 2023, particularly during a long march to Islamabad where families of the missing faced brutal treatment from authorities.
