On February 11, 2026, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) launched 'Gramora for Urdu,' an artificial intelligence-based linguistic software designed to modernize and advance the use of the Urdu language in the digital era. The launch event, attended by Minister of State for Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar and Senator Pervez Rashid, highlighted the software's role in bridging traditional language use with modern computing systems. According to Pakistan Today, the tool aims to assist users with language structure, writing accuracy, and digital compatibility, ensuring Urdu's relevance in rapidly evolving digital environments.
