Senior Superintendent of Police Mir Rohal Khoso indicated that the accident occurred between 5 am and 6 am, with preliminary investigations suggesting that "speeding and brake failure were probable reasons" for the crash. This incident follows a series of fatal accidents in the region, including a recent bus-trailer collision that killed 11 people and another involving an oil tanker that claimed 13 lives. In response to the rising number of accidents, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and a crackdown on overloading and speeding, emphasizing that "the protection of the public’s life and property is the government’s top responsibility."
