Sindh Home Minister Lanjar Discusses Security For Chinese Nationals

On February 27, 2026, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar met with Yang Yundong, the Consul General of China in Karachi, to discuss the security of Chinese nationals in Sindh. This meeting highlighted the government's commitment to ensuring the safety of Chinese citizens involved in various development projects, particularly those linked to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Lanjar stated, "The protection of Chinese citizens remains a top priority of the Government of Sindh and that no negligence in this regard will be tolerated." He emphasized the implementation of a strict zero-tolerance policy to safeguard Chinese nationals and reiterated the importance of enhanced coordination and intelligence-sharing between law enforcement and the Chinese Consulate to preempt potential threats. The meeting also involved key officials, including the Inspector General of Sindh Police, indicating a comprehensive approach to security measures.
