The Sindh Education Department has announced that the new academic year will commence on April 1, 2026, with a focus on environmental sustainability through the 'Teach for Trees' initiative. This decision was made during a Steering Committee meeting chaired by Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, as reported by Business Recorder. The initiative aims to involve approximately ten million students in planting trees, potentially resulting in ten million new trees across the province. The committee also decided that examinations for Grades 9 and 10 will be held from March 31 to April 15, 2026, and for Grades 11 and 12 from April 15 to April 30, 2026, with results announced in June. The Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) system will be implemented to enhance transparency in examinations.
