On February 12, 2026, a tragic incident occurred in Karachi's Papoosh area where a security guard shot a woman inside an ATM booth. According to 'Pakistan Today', CCTV footage revealed that the suspect had lured the woman to the ATM under the pretense of handing over money. The footage shows an argument breaking out as soon as she entered, after which the guard opened fire. The suspect, now in custody, claimed in his initial statement that he was in a relationship with the woman and alleged she was blackmailing him over a video. He also accused her of borrowing Rs50,000 and demanding more money. Despite being wounded, the woman attempted to flee but was shot twice more from behind. She was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later to Civil Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
