Recent research has revealed alarming findings regarding the safety of hair extensions, a popular beauty product used by celebrities like Elle Macpherson, Ivanka Trump, and Taylor Swift. According to a study conducted by the Silent Spring Institute in Massachusetts, 43 popular hair extension products were analyzed, uncovering the presence of hazardous chemicals such as flame retardants, phthalates, pesticides, styrene, tetrachloroethylene, and organotins. These chemicals are linked to serious health risks, including cancer, hormonal disruptions, developmental issues in children, and immune system damage. Dr. Alicia Franklin, the lead researcher, emphasized, 'Most companies do not provide full details of the chemicals used, leaving consumers unaware of potential long-term risks.'
