The Punjab Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has initiated a new procedure for re-registering vehicles from other provinces, marking a significant update in vehicle registration policies. As of February 14, 2026, vehicles and motorcycles previously registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir can now obtain Punjab registration numbers. This process requires applicants to undergo biometric verification and submit various documents, including a No Objection Certificate and a vehicle clearance certificate. According to ProPakistani, the registration fee remains consistent with Punjab's rates, and the previous registration numbers will be canceled upon issuance of a new Punjab number. This initiative aims to streamline vehicle registration across provinces and ensure uniformity in vehicle documentation.
