In a significant update, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that the government will distribute 'Ramazan Nigehban Cards' to over 4 million families, allowing each family to withdraw Rs10,000 through ATMs. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance amid rising food prices, with the distribution expected to be completed by the 10th of Ramazan. Additionally, the government has established 167 camp sites and nearly 300 Nigehban dastarkhwans across 147 cities to offer quality meals to those fasting. Authorities have also opened Ramadan bazaars offering discounts of up to 10% on essential commodities, with sugar priced at Rs140 per kg and flour at Rs905 for a 10 kg bag, compared to higher prices in the open market.
