The Punjab government is actively ensuring the supply of subsidised flour across the province, particularly in preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramazan. According to Business Recorder, Director General Food Punjab, Amjad Hafeez, stated that the government is distributing flour through 9,901 shops and 1,549 designated sale points. In the past 24 hours alone, 1.073 million flour bags were distributed, with specific allocations such as 189,000 bags of 10kg and 91,736 bags of 20kg to the Lahore division. Hafeez emphasized the government's commitment to maintaining affordable and quality flour availability, warning against hoarding and profiteering. He noted, 'Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, the food department has accelerated flour supply operations to maintain adequate availability in the market and prevent shortages during the holy month.' A province-wide crackdown on hoarders is underway to ensure price stability and uninterrupted supply of essential commodities.
