Punjab Government Proposes Rs1.14 Billion Vehicle Purchase For Officials

The Punjab government has recently proposed a significant procurement plan to purchase 108 new vehicles at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.14 billion, primarily intended for ministers, senior bureaucrats, and VIP security. This decision has sparked considerable controversy, especially in light of ongoing criticisms regarding the government's spending priorities. As reported by ARY News, the plan includes 28 vehicles for cabinet members valued at Rs. 300 million, featuring luxury models such as a Land Cruiser and Haval SUVs. Additionally, two bulletproof vehicles worth Rs. 40 million are earmarked for ministers, with a total of 25 vehicles allocated for VIP security at a cost of Rs. 270 million.
