Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Addresses Security Measures Against Taliban Attacks

On February 28, 2026, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif convened a high-level meeting to address the escalating security situation in Pakistan, particularly following the recent cross-border attacks from the Afghan Taliban. During the meeting, PM Sharif emphasized the need for 'comprehensive and effective security measures' and directed all federal and provincial institutions to coordinate their efforts. He stated, 'The entire nation salutes the sacrifices being rendered by the security forces in the war against terrorism,' highlighting the commitment of the armed forces under the leadership of Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir.
