The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan has confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon, marking the beginning of Ramadan on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced that numerous testimonies were received from across the country, including 21 reports from regions such as Peshawar, Mardan, and Islamabad. He stated, "The moon of Ramadan 1447 AH has been sighted across the country and the first fast will be observed tomorrow, February 19." In a related development, the Shahi Imam of Chandni Chowk's Fatehpuri mosque in India, Maulana Mufti Mukarram Ahmed, also confirmed that Ramadan fasts will commence on February 19, following the sighting of the crescent moon, aligning with the decision made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan.
