Nadra Reports 227 Million Registered Citizens In Pakistan

As of February 2026, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has reported that a remarkable 227 million citizens are now registered, representing nearly 97% of Pakistan's population. This data was highlighted in NADRA's annual performance report submitted to the Ministry of Interior, which also noted that the registration of children under 18 has increased by 11%, and women's registration has risen by 8%. However, the report revealed that 31.9 million births recorded at the union council level in 2025 are still pending upload to NADRA's central system, indicating a significant backlog that needs to be addressed.
