On February 15, 2026, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Khalid Bin Waleed Flyover, also known as the Bhains Colony Flyover, in Karachi. This significant infrastructure project, completed in just five months at a cost of Rs1.865 billion, aims to alleviate traffic congestion in District Malir, particularly around Bhains Colony and Mehran Highway. Shah highlighted that the flyover will enhance connectivity for residents and commuters traveling between the National Highway N-5 and Mehran Highway, while also reducing accidents at a nearby railway crossing. He emphasized, "This will provide long-term relief and boost economic activity through uninterrupted traffic flow." Additionally, he directed the Karachi mayor to expedite the completion of other infrastructure projects, including a flyover at Azimpura within 100 days and improvements to Shahrah-e-Bhutto within four to six weeks.
