As reported by Hum News on February 12, 2026, Maryam Nawaz declared the establishment of a medical college, an allied college for nursing and health professionals, an agricultural college, and a law college in Mianwali. She emphasized that these initiatives would prevent local students from having to travel to other cities for education. Additionally, the district headquarters hospital will be upgraded to a teaching hospital, and a modern cath lab has already been established to provide free cardiac care, highlighting a case where a patient's treatment was expedited from six months to 24 hours locally.
