In a significant development for the Mianwali district, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a series of multi-billion-rupee projects aimed at enhancing local infrastructure and services. As reported by Pakistan Today, these initiatives include the establishment of a medical college, nursing, law, and agriculture colleges, alongside the upgrade of the District Headquarters Hospital to a teaching hospital. Maryam Nawaz emphasized the government's commitment to equitable development, stating, 'Mianwali may be far on the map, but it is close to my heart.' The announcement also includes the 'Apna Khet Apni Zameen' project, which will allocate 300,000 acres of land to landless farmers, granting each eligible farmer five acres on a 25-year lease. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to support local agriculture and empower farmers with resources such as seeds and fertilizers.
