The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet has recently approved a significant increase in its Ramadan Relief Package, aimed at providing financial assistance to over one million families during the holy month of Ramadan. As reported by both Pakistan Today and ProPakistani, the package, sanctioned during the cabinet's 47th meeting, will offer an average of Rs12,500 per family, marking a 25% increase from the Rs10,000 provided in 2024. This decision, driven by directives from Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, reflects the government's response to the rising inflation and the increased cost of essential commodities such as sugar and wheat flour. A provincial spokesperson emphasized that this increase is crucial to help low-income households manage their expenses during Ramadan, a period marked by heightened household costs and religious significance.
