On February 18, 2026, senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique was admitted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) after suffering a heart attack. Medical sources reported that he underwent angioplasty, during which a stent was placed in one of his arteries. According to Hum News, Rafique stated, "I went for a routine check-up, and during the examination, doctors discovered a blockage, leading to immediate stenting." His condition has since improved, and he has been discharged from the hospital, expressing gratitude for the public's prayers and support. He mentioned, "Alhamdulillah, after the treatment, I am now home and my health is better."
