The recent economic developments in Pakistan have been marked by significant changes in the prices of essential commodities and precious metals. According to the Pakistan News Index, the Pakistan Nanbai Association has announced that despite rising costs, the prices of roti and naan will remain unchanged until the 30th of Ramadan. This decision, made during a General Council meeting, aims to provide temporary relief to the public. The association highlighted the financial strain on businesses, citing that the cost of commercial gas cylinders has reached 16,000 rupees. They warned that if raw material prices are not controlled, many tandoors might shut down after Eid, with an expected price increase of five rupees for roti and naan, and ten rupees for paratha and roghni naan post-Eid.
