Recent developments at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport have focused on improving passenger flow and reducing wait times, with all 20 immigration departure counters now fully operational. According to TechJuice and ProPakistani, this initiative aims to ensure smoother travel operations, particularly during peak hours. Deputy Director of Immigration Shehzad Akbar highlighted that full staffing at these counters has reduced the average immigration clearance time to nearly one minute per passenger. Additionally, a pre-departure clearance counter has been introduced, allowing travelers to complete immigration procedures days before their flight, thus minimizing last-minute delays. ProPakistani also reported upcoming enhancements, such as the installation of e-gates and the launch of a dedicated mobile app, which are part of broader efforts to modernize airport services.
