According to 'Pakistan Today', this new role grants Dar the status and powers of a provincial minister, including the right to attend Punjab Assembly sessions. The creation of this department is aimed at fostering innovation, technology adoption, and AI-based initiatives, with a strong focus on improving governance, creating job opportunities, and enhancing service delivery. Dar's academic background is notable; he studied Software Engineering at University College London (UCL) and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), after completing his early education at Aitchison College in Lahore.
